The daughter of a professor of ecology, Carolyn has spent her life
in the company of animals. After earning her B.S. in
ecological science, she spent many years working in, and then
managing, a veterinary hospital. Since 2006, Carolyn has
immersed herself full-time in her art, celebrating the
interrelationship between humans and the creatures that surround
them. Each of Carolyn's exquisitely sculpted pieces is
fashioned by hand. Like the animals they portray, no two are
exactly alike.
The capybara is a gregarious, semiaquatic herbivore similar to a
guinea pig. Found throughout South America, these gentle
creatures are excellent swimmers and extremely chatty. This
hand sculpted capybara salt cellar would love to keep you company
as you cook.
